I’m James Murphy; the conductor behind the camera at Trainman Photography! Born and raised Alaska, I fell in love with photography while working on the Alaska Railroad.

 

The pursuit of higher education took me to Oklahoma City University, where I immersed myself in the art of storytelling through theatre, music, and dance. I also uncovered a new voice, the passion to convey narratives and emotions through the lens of my camera.

 

What started as a passion soon became career.

 

After pulling into the Chicago station, my career took an enchanting twist. Capturing theater production photos and corporate headshots prepared me to take on the role of Magicians Photographer at the Chicago Magic Lounge.

 

In 2021, the call of the mountains lead me to the captivating landscapes of Seattle, Washington. This change of scenery was a leap into the unknown, yet it felt like the natural next step in my photographic expedition; utilizing my intricate skills behind the lens and post production expertise to capture stunning moments for the PNW community.
